From our backgrounds in the business world, community activism and the education system, we are dedicated advocates who are determined to create meaningful change. The aim of the Down Syndrome Foundation is to build trust and acceptance in our communities, as we revolutionize Canada’s approach to Down syndrome support. We want to welcome other people to join the Down Syndrome Foundation team and bring additional voices to the effort to change perceptions and break down barriers.
We embrace diversity in all its forms, including individuals with Down syndrome, and recognize it as a crucial component in creating a more inclusive society. The Down Syndrome Foundation is looking to recruit people who will bring important, missing voices to the ongoing debates of how to ensure that people with Down syndrome and their families can achieve good lives. Even in work with people with intellectual disabilities, we are aware that it is important to be inclusive of other dimensions of diversity, such as race, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, language and sexuality.
We understand that the voice of our Foundation is the product of many voices, and that building trust begins with us - in our relationships with each other, and the national Down syndrome community. Please contribute to our ongoing growth by bringing your distinct voice and unique perspective to the work of the Down Syndrome Foundation, as we strive for equity, inclusion and diversity.
