Down Syndrome Foundation is a charitable organization that partners with local, provincial, and community groups to improve the quality of life of people with Down syndrome. The Down Syndrome Foundation is committed to a new, action-oriented approach to making life better for people with Down syndrome and their families. We work from coast to coast to coast across Canada to uncover powerful models of Down syndrome support, and then liaise with and showcase the most successful initiatives, so that change-minded individuals and communities can learn from the nation’s best efforts.
The Down Syndrome Foundation expects to create a “multiplier effect” by identifying, cooperating with and propagating high value projects that improve the future for people with Down syndrome. The most promising ideas from different parts of Canada can be replicated and adapted for different areas and populations, so that individuals, organizations and communities no longer have to work in isolation. Our proactive approach and new style of activism bring momentum and professionalism to the efforts for change, and result in unprecedented intra-community dialogue and mutual assistance.
The Foundation also plans to launch original social, educational and cultural innovations. We look forward to the synergy that will result when the Down Syndrome Foundation’s initiatives engage with community based efforts and we anticipate a new, exciting era for people with Down syndrome in Canada.

Who we are
The Down Syndrome Foundation team is composed of individuals with deep experience in project development, management and research in the field of Down syndrome. We have the breadth of training and experience to creatively work with individuals, organizations and local communities to design, adapt and improve programs that will advance the life chances of people with Down syndrome. Through our partnerships with businesses and community groups, we are able to assist in funding exceptional programs and services.
